Rock A Rail is coming to Germany for the first time – in collaboration with RSB Sports Lab. Set in the heart of the Olympiapark, the event brings world-class snowboarding and freeskiing into an urban environment.
The concept is simple: top-tier riders, progressive setups, and an atmosphere rooted more in street culture than traditional winter sports. Rock A Rail stands for raw energy, creativity, and uncompromising riding – right in the city.

What is Rock A Rail Munich?
Rock A Rail is one of the world’s premier urban snowboard and ski contests. For its first-ever stop in Munich, international top-tier riders will compete on a massive, custom-built scaffold (the „setup“) featuring rails, stairs, and creative obstacles. It’s high-energy winter sports action brought directly to the heart of the city.
When and where will Rock A Rail Munich take place?
Location: Olympiapark Munich – Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz
Date: 30.10.2026 – 01.11.2026
Time: Typically, qualifiers start in the afternoon, with the major finals taking place under floodlights in the evening.
What else is happening at the event?
Beyond the main competition, Rock A Rail Munich is often part of a larger Snowfest. You can expect live DJs, professional commentators, partner booths from the snowboard industry, and plenty of food and drinks to keep the energy high.
How do I get to the venue?
Since the event is held in a central Munich location, we highly recommend using public transport (MVV). Parking in Munich can be limited during major events, so taking the U-Bahn or Tram is the fastest and most sustainable way to join the crowd.
Will the event happen regardless of the weather?
Yes! Rock A Rail is an outdoor event designed to withstand various conditions. Since the snow for the ramp and rail setup is either produced on-site or delivered, the action is guaranteed even if the Munich weather is mild.
